FIRST THOUGHTS

On behalf of Paris La Défense Arena (PLDA), we are truly honored to be under consideration as a potential host venue for an exceptional Formula 1 reveal and fan event.

Paris La Défense Arena is privately owned by Jacky Lorenzetti, who also owns the Racing 92 rugby club and several prestigious French businesses, including renowned Bordeaux vineyards. Since its inauguration in October 2017, PLDA has hosted many of the world’s biggest entertainment and sporting events: from concerts (Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, P!nk, Elton John, Taylor Swift, Imagine Dragons, Dua Lipa…) to international sport (Olympic Games Paris 2024, Rolex Paris Masters starting 2025), and large-scale business conventions.

Our venue sits at the heart of Europe’s financial hub, La Défense, and is surrounded by top-tier transportation infrastructure, hospitality, and iconic landmarks. This includes privileged access to support venues such as the Château de Versailles, world-class hotels, and premium partners such as Canal+ and LVMH.

Our discussions with your senior management team and production company have been extremely positive. It is clear that there is strong mutual interest in staging a unique, impactful event at PLDA in 2026. However, we are aware that other stakeholders also stand as serious contenders, offering to acquire the entire concept. This reality reinforces our ambition to put forward the most compelling and strategic offer possible, one that not only guarantees a flawless execution, but also amplifies Formula 1’s cultural and commercial impact in Europe.

The proposed economic model is based on a dry hire of the venue, with all operational details outlined in the attached business plan. However, in order to maximize our competitiveness in the face of strong offers from other stakeholders, we are prepared to waive our venue rental fee entirely and only invoice Formula 1 for actual operational costs incurred. This demonstrates our total commitment to hosting the event and our readiness to invest alongside Formula 1 to ensure its success.

Paris La Défense Arena would serve as your single point of contact, coordinating seamlessly with government bodies, police, suppliers, and vendors. Our teams are fully experienced in delivering high-stakes international events in partnership with the public authorities.

Paris La Défense Arena is also proud to hold ISO 20121 certification, which reflects our deep commitment to environmental and social responsibility. We fully align with Formula 1’s ESG vision and are ready to actively support your legacy programs, fan engagement strategy, and sustainability goals.

We understand that the success of this operation goes far beyond logistics. It is about offering a European stage for innovation, emotion, and prestige. We believe this proposal offers Formula 1 an iconic destination, the right audience, a flexible infrastructure with an unmatched modulable capacity, and an opportunity to anchor the sport in Paris through a unique, annual moment.

We are excited by the prospect of bringing Formula 1 to Paris La Défense Arena and are ready to activate every lever, institutional, operational, and commercial to make this partnership a flagship initiative.

Kind regards,

VENUE

As the son of a property developer, Jacky Lorenzetti began his career in the family business. He founded the Foncia Group in 1972, which became a leader in property management in France and Europe. Innovative management led Jacky Lorenzetti to introduce the company in the stock exchange in 2001. In 2007, he sought to align Foncia with the Banque Populaire Group.

Deciding to diversify his investments, Jacky Lorenzetti acquired the french rugby Racing Métro, later renamed Racing 92. Leading the club from ProD2 at the time of acquisition, he guided Racing 92 to the French championship title in 2016.

Upton taking charge of Racing 92, Jacky Lorenzetti aimed to provide the club with its own stadium. He built Paris La Défense Arena, describing it as « a concert venue where you can also play rugby ». On October 19, 2017, the arena was inaugurated with a concert by the Rolling Stones. Winegrowing is also a family affair for the Lorenzetti family, since it was on the advice of his wife Françoise, a native of Sainte-Foye-la-Grande, that Jacky Lorenzetti acquired Château Lilian-Ladouys and its 48 ha of vines in Saint-Estèphe in 2008. This was followed in September 2009 by the acquisition of Château Pédesclaux in Pauillac, the 5th Grand Cru Classé.
